The Jordan national football team represents Jordan in international football and is controlled by the Jordan Football Association. And Jordan has never qualified for a World Cup final but has featured in the Asian Cup four times and reached its quarter-final stage in the 2004 and 2011 editions. Jordan Football History.
Jordan is a two-time Pan Arab Games champion, winning the 1997 and 1999 editions of the tournament, the Jordan International Tournament champion, winning in 1992, and the Bahrain International Tournament champion, winning in 2002. 1st International match

Jordan National Football Team
Jordan’s national football team began to improve under Serbian head coach Branko Smeljanic, who helped Jordan to more matches in the first round of the 2002 World Cup qualifiers. After the match ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time, Japan went into a penalty shootout. But thanks to El-Gohary, the Jordanian team reached its highest FIFA world ranking of 37th in 2004. Like Serbia’s Bronco, El-Gohary also helped Jordan achieve more match results in Jordan’s first round of 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification.
Championship Tournaments
In the 2004 and 2007 WAF Championship tournaments, El Gohary helped Jordan to third place in 2004 and to the semi-finals in 2007. After coaching Jordan in five out of six matches in the 2007 Asian Cup qualifiers. El-Gohary retired as football coach, and Portuguese Nilo Vingda took over as Jordan’s head coach. But he did not allow Jordan to qualify for the 2007 Asian Cup. Couldn’t help qualify for that.
FIFA World Cup
The 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign provided another opportunity for Wingada to demonstrate his abilities as a head coach. But after failing to help Jordan qualify for the 2010 World Cup, Wingada managed to help Jordan to a second-place finish at the 2008 West Asian Football Federation Championship. This was followed by the 2011 AFC Asian Cup qualification matches starting in January 2009.
After failing to win the first two of six matches, he was sacked by the Jordan Football Association. And replaced by Iraqi Adnan Hamad as a coach. Known in Asia for his achievements as head coach with his national team Iraq. As well as with Iraq U-23 and other Iraqi youth teams and clubs. His first experiences with Jordanian football players came when he coached Jordanian football club Al-Faisali from 2006 to 2008 and achieved notable results with the team.
Asian Cup
After helping Jordan qualify for their second Asian Cup tournament, Qatar 2011, Hamad began chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ for the Jordanian national team in September 2010 when they had the 2010 World Cup in Jordan. It hosted the West Asian Football Federation Championship. Hamad prepared for the Asian Cup tournament in Qatar with two friendlies as well as three more for the tournament. Like Mahmoud Al-Ghori, Hammad helped Jordan qualify for the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup. But failed to advance to the semi-finals as they lost 2–1 to Uzbekistan.
Hamad also got Jordan to finish second at the 2011 Pan Arab Games in Qatar. Hamad helped Jordan to a third-place finish in the final round of Asian group qualification for the 2014 World Cup. He was replace by Egyptian Hossam Hassan before the final stages to take him into the play-off round against Uzbekistan to determine the AFC’s participation in the intercontinental play-offs. Jordan Performance
After the two teams were evenly match at full time in the second leg. Jordan eventually progressed to the intercontinental playoffs after winning 9–8 on penalties. After a goalless draw from the second leg, the Jordanians missed out on their first-ever FIFA World Cup debut, losing 5-0 to the Uruguayan side. Hasan also helped Jordan qualify for the 2015 Asian Cup. On September 3, 2014, Ray Wilkins was name Jordan’s new head coach.

Jordan’s performance certainly stagnated as Jordanian Chevaliers failed to make it to the final round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification, losing 0–1 to Kyrgyzstan and 1–5 to Australia. Jordan would qualify for the 2019 Asian Cup where Jordan defeated Australia and Syria in the group stage to become the first team to reach the round of sixteen.
