FIFA World Cup
Luxembourg has participated in every FIFA World Cup qualifier since the 1934 World Cup and UEFA European Championship qualifiers since Euro 1964. As of 2020, he has never qualified for any of these major tournaments.

1st International match

On 3 September 2017, Luxembourg drew 0–0 with France at the Stade Municipal in Toulouse. It was the first time France had failed to win against Luxembourg since 1914 when Luxembourg won 5–4. On 10 November 2017, Luxembourg upset Hungary 2–1 in a friendly match. On 28 March 2021, Luxembourg defeated the Republic of Ireland in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match with an 85th-minute goal by Gerson Rodríguez.
Kit
Traditionally, the Luxembourg team’s kit badge features a shield similar to Luxembourg’s coat of arms, a red lion on a white-blue striped background – hence the team’s nickname, the Red Lions. In the modern era, the team played home games in all-red strips, ditching the white, in keeping with its nickname.
Home Stadium
As of 1 September 2021, the Luxembourg national team adopted the Stade de Luxembourg in Luxembourg City, the country’s national stadium, as their home venue. Previously, the team played at the Stade Josie Barthel, where, as of August 2015, it had played 235 games, including unofficial matches. It is also used for rugby union and athletics.
Racing FC Union Luxembourg
Racing FC Union Luxembourg commonly abbreviated to Racing-Union is a football club based in the city of Luxembourg in southern Luxembourg.
It originated with Racing Club Luxembourg, which won the first national championship in 1909–10 as well as the first cup in 1921–22.
Early History
Racing Club Luxembourg was founded in 1907 and became Luxembourg’s first official champion by winning the title in 1909–10. RC Luxembourg also won the first cup in 1922. Along with Sporting Clube Luxembourg and Union Sportive Holrich, three clubs from the capital dominated Luxembourg football in its early days.
